كادَ الفِراقُ غَداةَ البَينِ يَفجَعُني
لَوif كُنتُI had been مِنby فَجَعاتِthe grievous blows of البَينِparting قُرحاناunscarred
لَو كُنتُ مِن فَجَعاتِ البَينِ قُرحانا
Separation would almost have devastated me on the morning of parting,
The pain of parting nearly made me weep at dawn
had I been unscarred by the grievous blows of parting.
