نرى لبنان أهلاً للتهاني

فقد نال الأمان مع الأماني

We deem Lebanon worthy of congratulations,

We see Lebanon receiving congratulations,

For it has gained safety and realized its hopes.

For it has attained safety and desires.

واضحى جنة من حل فيه

واضحى جنة من حل فيه

قرير العين مسرور الجنان

قرير العين مسرور الجنان

And it has become a paradise; whoever dwells there

It has become a paradise for whoever settles in it,

Has eyes at ease and a joyful heart.

With delighted eyes and joyous soul.

وجدت للعلوم به دروس

وجدت للعلوم به دروس

وكانت في الدروس وفي التواني

وكانت في الدروس وفي التواني

Lessons in the sciences have been established there,

Lessons for knowledge were found in it,

Though they had lain in oblivion and neglect.

And there were lessons and delays.

وللاخبار قد وجدت سلوك

وللاخبار قد وجدت سلوك

كذلك طبع ذي الصحف الحسان

كذلك طبع ذي الصحف الحسان

And wires have been provided for news,

A way for news was also found,

As has the printing of these fine newspapers.

As well as good printing for papers.

ومن ورد الشريعة فيه يصدر

ومن ورد الشريعة فيه يصدر

بحق كامل في ذا الأوان

بحق كامل في ذا الأوان

And whoever comes to the wellspring of law there departs

Whoever pursues jurisprudence in it issues

With his full due in this age.

A complete truth at this time.

وذاك بهمة الشهم المسمى

And that is through the resolve of the noble man called

And that is with the ambition of the brave one

Dawud, the Solomon of the age:

Named Dawood Suleiman of the time.

Great in standing, possessed of lofty aspirations,

Great in status, having high ambitions,

And possessed of sound judgment in every affair;

Sound in prudence, praised for his lofty merits,

Firm in resolve, praised for glory,

Strong in resolve, commendable in character.

تنص على منصات البيان

تنص على منصات البيان

And meanings emerge from their marvels,

And wonders of meanings will appear from them

Raised upon the daises of eloquence.

That denote platforms of rhetoric.

فيدري محكم الأحكام فيه

فيدري محكم الأحكام فيه

جميع الناس من قاص وداني

جميع الناس من قاص وداني

Thus the sound rulings therein become known

The one skilled in judgments knows in it

To all people, far and near.

All the people, both near and far.

ويهدون الدعاء بكل خير

ويهدون الدعاء بكل خير

لدولتنا العلية والتثاني

لدولتنا العلية والتثاني

And they offer prayers for every blessing

And they send blessings for all good

To our exalted state, along with praise.

Upon our eminent state and glory!

فلا زالت مؤيدة بنصر

فلا زالت مؤيدة بنصر

مؤبدة بعز وامتنان

مؤبدة بعز وامتنان

So may it ever be upheld by victory,

So it remains supported by victory

Made everlasting in glory and favor.

And continuing in might and favor.
