مسجد قد أسسوه بالتقى

مسجد قد أسسوه بالتقى

فبإخلاص ترى فيه العباده

فبإخلاص ترى فيه العباده

A mosque they have founded upon piety;

A mosque they built with piety

So within it you see worship offered with sincerity.

So with sincerity you see worship in it

من بني المجذوب محمودٌ بني

من بني المجذوب محمودٌ بني

فاز بالحسنى عليه والزياده

فاز بالحسنى عليه والزياده

Mahmud, of the sons of al-Majdhub, built it;

It was built by Mahmoud son of Al-Majdhoub

For it he won the finest reward, and more.

He won goodness and more

فبنى الله له دار الهنا

فبنى الله له دار الهنا

وحباه بالمعالي والسياده

وحباه بالمعالي والسياده

So God built him an abode of bliss,

So God built him a house of bliss

And bestowed on him lofty honors and eminence;

And gifted him glory and supremacy

ثم أعطاه مقاماً عالياً

ثم أعطاه مقاماً عالياً

مع كل الأهل في دار السعاده

مع كل الأهل في دار السعاده

Then gave him a lofty station,

Then gave him a high station

With all his family in the abode of happiness.

With all the people in the abode of joy

فاعبدوا الله به إذ ارخوا

فاعبدوا الله به إذ ارخوا

ادخلوه لصلاة يا عباده

ادخلوه لصلاة يا عباده

So worship God in it, as they recorded its date:

So worship God in it since they constructed

Enter it for prayer, O His servants.
