Their mounts bore them away on the day of parting,
Their mounts bore them away on the day of parting,
more hurried and swifter than the heart’s beating.
Swifter than the beating of the heart, and faster still.
كَأَنَّas though الحَشاthe bosom وَالقَلبَand the heart عِندَat تَذَكُّريmy remembering

As though, whenever I remember them, my innermost being and heart
It is as though my bosom and heart, when I remember
were leaves upon a shaken bough.
them, are leaves on a trembling branch.
