والحزم والعزمُ طبعا من ماديها
Such are the ranks; their edifices have grown lofty.
The ranks have been ennobled by their structures,
And prudence and resolve are naturally among their [principles].
And determination and resolve are inherent to their nature,

بالفخر فالجدُّ يُؤتيه معاليها
And these are high honors: whoever persists in pursuing them
He who aspires to glory, if he comprehends them,
With pride—diligence grants him their loftiest honors.
Will gain glory and excellence through earnestness.

لا يدرك المجدَ الاَّ فارسٌ بطل

ولا يؤمُّ المعالي غيرُ واليها
None attains glory but a heroic knight.
Glory is only attained by a valiant knight,
And none seeks high honors but their master.
And none can lead to glory but its governor,

Glory must have a noble and distinguished man,
Glory requires valor and perceptiveness,
In whom glory takes pride, exulting in its heights.
With which glory shines at its heights.

Like the unique elite whose glory has wandered,

The ranks of glory, both near and far.

He is the minister whose noble deeds are widely known
He is the minister whose feats have spread
In glory; history never ceases to recount them.
In glory, which history never ceases to recount,

And the poets of the time have come to chant them
And rhymes spring forth from their meanings.
As the rhymes unlock their meanings.

Praise and thanks to our mighty lord for
Thanks and gratitude to our noble lord
His favor, when he gave the bow to its maker.
For his blessing when he gave the bow its arrow,

Our sultan, the master—the master—who holds the world in his grasp,
Our Sultan, holder of the world in his grip,
Lord of the caliphate, its refuge and its guardian.
Refuge of the caliphate, its successor and protector,

O Lord, make his might endure for all time,
O Lord, may you eternalize the span of his reign
And preserve his justice as a watering place for those who thirst for it.
And safeguard his justice, answering the oppressed,

O Lord, grant his subjects well-being through his compassion,
O Lord, bless his subjects with his kindness,
And may the rain of his bounty never cease to give them life.
And may the rain of his grace never cease to revive them.
