أَناI عبدٌa servant لسيّدto the master الأنبياءِthe prophets
أَنا عبدٌ لسيّد الأنبياءِ
وَولائيand my allegiance لهُto him القديمlong-standing ولائيmy allegiance
وَولائي لهُ القديم ولائي
I am a servant of the master of the prophets,
I am a servant of the Master of Prophets
And my allegiance to him is my allegiance of old.
And my loyalty to him is everlasting
أَناI عبدٌa servant لعبدهِto his servant ولعبدand to the servant of الthe
أَنا عبدٌ لعبدهِ ولعبد ال
عَبدservant عبدٌa servant كذاthus بغيرwithout اِنتهاءِend
عَبد عبدٌ كذا بغير اِنتهاءِ
I am a servant to his servant, and to the servant of the
I am a servant of his servant and Allah's servant
servant I am a servant—and so on without end.
A perpetual servant without end
أَناI لاnot أَنتهيI cease عنِfrom القربnearness منto باgate (first fragment)
أَنا لا أَنتهي عنِ القرب من با
بِgate (completion) رضاهhis favor فيin جملةِthe company of الدخلاءِthose admitted
بِ رضاه في جملةِ الدخلاءِ
I never cease drawing near to the gate
I do not stop seeking closeness
of his favor, among those admitted.
To the door of his pleasure amongst all who enter
أَنشرُI spread العلمَknowledge فيconcerning معاليهhis lofty virtues للناto the people (first fragment)
أَنشرُ العلمَ في معاليه للنا
سِpeople (completion) وَأَشدواand I sing بهof him معwith الشعراءِthe poets
سِ وَأَشدوا به مع الشعراءِ
I spread knowledge of his lofty virtues among the people,
I spread knowledge of his sublime traits to all people
And sing of him with the poets.
And sing of it alongside poets
فَعَساهُso may he يقولُsay ليto me أنتَyou سلماSalman (first fragment)
فَعَساهُ يقولُ لي أنتَ سلما
نُSalman (completion) وَلائيloyalty to me حسّانHassan حُسنbeauty of ثنائيpraise of me
نُ وَلائي حسّان حُسن ثنائي
May he then say to me, 'You are Salman
May he say to me “You are my loyal Salman”
in loyalty to me, Hassan in beautiful praise of me.'
And “You have spoken well of me”
وَبروحيand with my soul أَفديI ransom ترابَthe dust of حماهُhis sanctuary
وَبروحي أَفدي ترابَ حماهُ
وَلهand to him الفضلُthe grace فيin قَبولaccepting فدائيmy sacrifice
وَله الفضلُ في قَبول فدائي
And with my soul I ransom the dust of his sanctuary;
By my soul I ransom the soil of his tomb
And his is the grace in accepting my sacrifice.
To him belongs all merit in my sacrifice
فازَhas triumphed مَنwhoever يَنتميis affiliated إليهِto him ولاand no حاneed (first fragment)
فازَ مَن يَنتمي إليهِ ولا حا
جةَneed (completion) فيهin him لذلكfor that الإنتماءِaffiliation
جةَ فيه لذلك الإنتماءِ
Whoever is affiliated with him triumphs; yet he has no
Blessed is he who claims ties to him
need of that affiliation.
For that claim no proof is needed
هوَhe فيin غنيةٍself-sufficiency عنfrom الخلقِcreation طرّاًone and all
هوَ في غنيةٍ عن الخلقِ طرّاً
وَهمُand they الكلُّall عنهapart from him دونwithout غناءِsufficiency
وَهمُ الكلُّ عنه دون غناءِ
He has no need of creation, one and all,
He is free of all needs unlike people
And all of them are unable to do without him.
And people are nothing without him
وَهوَand he للَّهto God وحدهُHim alone عبدهُHis servant الخاthe wholly devoted (first fragment)
وَهوَ للَّه وحدهُ عبدهُ الخا
لِصُwholly devoted (completion) مَجلىlocus of manifestation الصفاتthe attributes والأسماءِand the names
لِصُ مَجلى الصفات والأسماءِ
And he is God's alone, His wholly devoted servant,
He belongs only to Allah, His sincere servant
the manifestation of the attributes and names.

كلُّevery فضلٍbounty فيin الخلقcreation فهوso it is منfrom اللَGod (first fragment)
كلُّ فضلٍ في الخلق فهو من اللَ
هِGod (completion) إِليهِto him ومنهand from him للأشياءُto the things
هِ إِليهِ ومنه للأشياءُ
Every bounty in creation comes from God
Any excellence found in creation is from Allah
to him, and from him to all things.
To Him and from Him to all things
