زَعَموني أحبُّ هنداً وميّا

قَد أتى الزاعمونَ شيئاً فريّا

قَد أتى الزاعمونَ شيئاً فريّا

They claimed I love Hind and Mayy.

They claimed I loved Hind and Mayya

Those claimants have indeed uttered a monstrous falsehood.

The claimants have come up with something fantastic

ما لِهندٍ ولا لميٍّ نصيبٌ

ما لِهندٍ ولا لميٍّ نصيبٌ

في فؤادِ اِمرئٍ أحبّ النبيّا

في فؤادِ اِمرئٍ أحبّ النبيّا

Neither Hind nor Mayy has any share

Neither Hind nor Mayya have a share

in the heart of a man who has loved the Prophet—

In the heart of a man who loved the Prophet

مُصطفى اللَّه مِن جميع البرايا

مُصطفى اللَّه مِن جميع البرايا

مُجتباهُ حبيبهُ القرشيّا

مُجتباهُ حبيبهُ القرشيّا

God's chosen one from all creation,

Mustafa, whom Allah chose from all of mankind

His elect, His beloved, the Qurayshi.

His beloved, the Qurayshi

أشرَقت شمسُ فضله فرآها

أشرَقت شمسُ فضله فرآها

كلُّ مَن لم يكن غبيّاً غويّا

كلُّ مَن لم يكن غبيّاً غويّا

The sun of his excellence shone forth, and it was seen

The sun of his virtue shone, so

by everyone who was neither foolish nor astray.

Everyone who was not foolish or misguided saw it

جاءَ والناسُ عن هُدى اللَّه ضلّوا

جاءَ والناسُ عن هُدى اللَّه ضلّوا

فَهداهم له الصراطَ السويّا

فَهداهم له الصراطَ السويّا

He came while people had strayed from God's guidance,

He came while people had lost the guidance of Allah

so he guided them to Him along the straight path.

So he guided them to the straight path

قد أقامَ الدليلَ فيهم كلام ال

قد أقامَ الدليلَ فيهم كلام ال

لَهِ أَو لا فالصارمَ المشرفيّا

لَهِ أَو لا فالصارمَ المشرفيّا

He established the proof among them with the word of

He established proof among them, speech that

God—or else with the keen Mashrafi sword.

Either has it or not, the honorable and glorious sword

راقَ للعالمينَ عذب هداهُ

راقَ للعالمينَ عذب هداهُ

وَعَلى العرشِ قد أناف رقيّا

وَعَلى العرشِ قد أناف رقيّا

The sweetness of his guidance delighted the worlds,

The sweetness of his guidance appealed to all people

and he rose above the Throne in his ascent.

And he climbed high on the Throne

كَم عظيمٍ بينَ الورى اِمتاز لكن

كَم عظيمٍ بينَ الورى اِمتاز لكن

لَم يحُز غيره الكمالَ الوفيّا

لَم يحُز غيره الكمالَ الوفيّا

Many a great one has excelled among humankind, yet

How great he was among people on earth yet

none but he has attained complete perfection.

None but him attained complete and perfect virtue

فَعَليه يا ربّ صلّ صلاة

فَعَليه يا ربّ صلّ صلاة

تجمعُ الفضلَ لا تغادر شيّا

تجمعُ الفضلَ لا تغادر شيّا

So, O Lord, bestow upon him a blessing

So bless him, O Lord, with a prayer

that gathers all excellence and leaves nothing out.

That combines all merit and leaves out nothing

وَاِعفُ عنّي بهِ وبارِك بعمري

وَاِعفُ عنّي بهِ وبارِك بعمري

وَاِجعلِ الختمَ فيه مِسكاً ذكيّا

وَاِجعلِ الختمَ فيه مِسكاً ذكيّا

And pardon me through him, and bless my life,

And pardon me through him and bless my life

and make its ending fragrant musk.

And make my end with him a fragrant musk
