ليشكُرlet them give thanks بنوthe sons of العباسAbbas نعمىa blessing تجدّدتwas renewed
ليشكُر بنو العباس نعمى تجدّدت
فقدfor indeed وعدَpromised اللَهGod المزيدmore علىin return for الشكرgratitude
فقد وعدَ اللَه المزيد على الشكر
Let the sons of Abbas give thanks for a renewed blessing;
Let the Abbasids thank renewed blessings,
for God has promised more in return for gratitude.
For God has promised more to the grateful.
لقدindeed جنّبتكُمwas kept away from you أسرةٌa clan حسدتكُمenvied you
لقد جنّبتكُم أسرةٌ حسدتكُم
فسلَتand drew علىagainst الإسلامِIslam سيفاًa sword منof الكفرunbelief
فسلَت على الإسلامِ سيفاً من الكفر
You have indeed been spared a clan that envied you
A jealous clan has spared you,
and drew against Islam a sword of unbelief.
Unleashing on Islam a sword of unbelief.
وقدand indeed نغّصتهمhas embittered them جولةٌa bout of fighting بعدafter جولةٍa bout of fighting
وقد نغّصتهم جولةٌ بعد جولةٍ
يبيتونthey make ... spend the night فيهاduring it المسلمينَthe Muslims علىin a state of ذعرِterror
يبيتون فيها المسلمينَ على ذعرِ
And bout after bout of fighting has embittered them;
Campaign after campaign has embittered them,
during which they make the Muslims spend the night in terror.
As they spend the night striking terror into Muslims.
