أَقولُI say لِعَينيto my eye حينَwhen جادَتpoured forth بِدَمعِهاwith its tears
أَقولُ لِعَيني حينَ جادَت بِدَمعِها
وَإِنسانُهاand its pupil فيin لُجَّةِthe depths of الدَمعِthe tears يَغرَقُdrowns
وَإِنسانُها في لُجَّةِ الدَمعِ يَغرَقُ
I say to my eye as it pours forth its tears,
I say to my eyes when they weep generously
And its pupil drowns in the depths of tears:
And their human drowns in the abundance of tears
خُذيtake بِنَصيبٍa share مِنof مَحاسِنِthe beauties of وَجهِهاher face
خُذي بِنَصيبٍ مِن مَحاسِنِ وَجهِها
دَعيsave الدَمعَthe tears لِليَومِfor the day الَّذيon which نَتَفَرَّقُwe part
دَعي الدَمعَ لِليَومِ الَّذي نَتَفَرَّقُ
Take your share of the beauties of her face;
Take your share of the beauty of her face
Save your tears for the day we part.
