تَهامٍ فَأنّى يَلتَقي الشَجِيّانِ

Every sorrowful soul from al-Sham wept, stirred to longing by

Every grief-stricken one cried out

one from Tihamah—so how can the two sorrowful souls meet?

Yearning consumed him, so how can the grief-stricken meet?
