لا يَفرَحَنَّ الشامِتونَ فَإِنَّما

لا يَفرَحَنَّ الشامِتونَ فَإِنَّما

يَعيشونَ بَعدَ الذاهِبينَ لَيالِيا

يَعيشونَ بَعدَ الذاهِبينَ لَيالِيا

Let those who gloat not rejoice, for they only

Let not those who gloat rejoice, for they

live a few nights after those who have departed.

Only outlive the departed by nights

وَلا تَحسَبوا الآجالَ مِنهُم بَعيدَةً

وَلا تَحسَبوا الآجالَ مِنهُم بَعيدَةً

فَإِنَّ قَريباً كُلُّ ما كانَ جائِياً

فَإِنَّ قَريباً كُلُّ ما كانَ جائِياً

And do not think their appointed deaths far from them,

And think not their time far,

for all that is to come is near.

For soon comes all that is to come
