وَلاand do not تُصفَينbestow sincerely بِالوُدِّwith affection مَنone who لَيسَis not أَهلَهُworthy of it
وَلا تُصفَين بِالوُدِّ مَن لَيسَ أَهلَهُ
وَلاand do not تُبعِدَنْdraw away بِالوُدِّin affection مِمَّنfrom one who تَوَدَّداhas shown affection
وَلا تُبعِدَنْ بِالوُدِّ مِمَّن تَوَدَّدا
And do not bestow sincere affection on one unworthy of it.
Do not profess affection for one unworthy of it,
And do not withhold affection from one who has shown it.
Nor spurn with dislike one who shows you friendship.
