وللصمت خيرٌ على عيه

وللصمت خيرٌ على عيه

من النطق تلزم فيه الخطاء

And silence, despite its inarticulateness, is indeed better

Silence is better for the wise

than speech, in which you incur error.

Than speech, which leads to error and lies

فكن صامتاً واعياً ما يقال

فكن صامتاً واعياً ما يقال

فذلك أجدى وأعلى سناء

فذلك أجدى وأعلى سناء

So be silent, mindful of what is said;

So be silent and aware of what's said

for that is more beneficial and higher in honor.

For that is most virtuous and leads ahead
