يُعرَفُ عَقلُ المَرءِ في أَربَعٍ

يُعرَفُ عَقلُ المَرءِ في أَربَعٍ

مِشيَتُهُ أَوَّلُها وَالحَرَك

مِشيَتُهُ أَوَّلُها وَالحَرَك

A person's intellect is known by four things:

His gait is the first, and his movements;

وَدَورُ عَينَيهِ وَأَلفاظُهُ

وَدَورُ عَينَيهِ وَأَلفاظُهُ

بَعدُ عَلَيهِنَّ يَدورُ الفَلَك

بَعدُ عَلَيهِنَّ يَدورُ الفَلَك

And the turning of his eyes, and his words;

Then, around these the celestial sphere revolves.
