لَقَدindeed فَسَدَتit has grown corrupt فَماso … not تَلقىyou encounter
لَقَد فَسَدَت فَما تَلقى
بِهاin it مَنanyone who لَيسَis not ذاpossessed of شَجَنِsorrow
بِها مَن لَيسَ ذا شَجَنِ
It has indeed grown corrupt, so you do not encounter
within it anyone free from sorrow.
وَصارَand has become الحَيُّthe living person مِنّاamong us يَغenvies (first part of the split word)
وَصارَ الحَيُّ مِنّا يَغ
بِطُenvies (remainder of the split word) المَلفوفَthe one wrapped فيin الكَفَنِthe shroud
بِطُ المَلفوفَ في الكَفَنِ
And the living among us have come to envy
the one wrapped in the shroud.
