I am a poet who loves solitude, without any

Wife, so that my thoughts may be clear.

If I had a wife, I would be troubled,

At every moment, procuring her sustenance.

Many a person says, “The prime of his youth is wasted.”

Idleness and wine have not wasted it,

As I have never ceased striving constantly for knowledge,

Until these thoughts came to me.

Whatever I seek without a wife, I am not

A burden, and my livelihood is always abundant.

And when I go out for a stroll, I enjoy it:

No estate left neglected, and nothing to recall.
