قد عادَ من بعدِ السفرِ
Welcome, welcome to the moon!
Welcome and hello to the moon
It has returned from its travels.
It has returned after traveling
واضآءَand lit up بعدَafter رجوعهِits return
واضآءَ بعدَ رجوعهِ
ليلىmy night فاصبحَso it became كالسحرlike dawn
ليلى فاصبحَ كالسحر
And after its return, it lit up
And illuminated after its return
My night, so it became like dawn.
Made the night like magic
أَتَتِcame الحبيبةُthe beloved فانجلىand so vanished
أَتَتِ الحبيبةُ فانجلى
عناfrom us برؤيتهاat the sight of her الكدرthe gloom
عنا برؤيتها الكدر
The beloved came, and there vanished
The beloved came so worries cleared
From us, at the sight of her, all gloom.
With her sight, distress disappeared
منَّتshe bestowed a favor عليناupon us باللقاwith a meeting
منَّت علينا باللقا
كالأرضlike the earth لاقاهاmet it المطرthe rain
كالأرض لاقاها المطر
She graced us with a meeting,
She blessed us with the meeting
Like the earth when rain meets it.
Like land blessed by rain
ولقدand indeed ظننتُI thought لقآءَهاmeeting her
ولقد ظننتُ لقآءَها
حُلماًa dream كعادتهِas is its habit عَبَرpassed
حُلماً كعادتهِ عَبَر
And I thought my meeting with her
I'd thought meeting her
A dream that passed, as it usually does.
A fleeting dream as always
والحمدُand praise للهِto God الذيwho
والحمدُ للهِ الذي
نلناwe attained بنعمتهِby His grace الوَطَرthe heart's desire
نلنا بنعمتهِ الوَطَر
And praise be to God, by whose
Praise God who
Grace we attained our heart's desire.
With His grace we attained delight
