قد أشرقَ الحيُّ إذ حلَّت بساحتهِ

قد أشرقَ الحيُّ إذ حلَّت بساحتهِ

تاجُ الكرام التي قلبي بها عَلِقَا

تاجُ الكرام التي قلبي بها عَلِقَا

The quarter shone when she alighted in its square:

The beloved has risen as she entered his abode

Taj al-Kiram, the Crown of the Noble, to whom my heart was bound.

The crown of honor which has captivated my heart

جميلة الوجهِ قد هامَ السقامُ بها

جميلة الوجهِ قد هامَ السقامُ بها

وكلُّ من نظر الوجه البهي عَشِقَا

وكلُّ من نظر الوجه البهي عَشِقَا

Beautiful of face, sickness has fallen madly in love with her;

Beautiful of face, the lovesick are infatuated with her

And everyone who beheld the radiant face fell in love.

And all who glimpsed her radiant face fell in love
