I have indeed counseled people and said to them:

I am the warner, so let no one deceive you.

Never worship a god other than your Creator.

So if they call you, say: “A barrier stands between us.”

Glory to the Possessor of the Throne, glory befitting Him.

Lord of creation, unique, one, the refuge of all.

Glory to Him, then glory that returns to Him.

And previously, al-Judi and al-Jumud glorified Him.

All who are beneath the sky are subject to Him.

No one ought to challenge His dominion.

Of what you see, there is nothing but its pleasant appearance.

God remains, while wealth and offspring perish.

Nothing from his treasuries ever availed Hormuz.

And ʿAd indeed sought immortality, but they did not live forever.

Nor Solomon, when the peoples submitted to him—

Humankind and jinn, among whom couriers ran.

Where are the kings whose might commanded submission,

To whom an envoy would come from every quarter?

There is a pool there, to be visited—no lie.

One must come to it one day, just as they came.
