  2. يبقى المريض ليشفي

    حيناً ويودى الطبيب

    The patient lives on to recover

    for a time, while the physician perishes.

  3. إن أبعدتك المنايا

    إن اللقاء قريب

    If death has taken you far away,

    surely our meeting is near.

  4. أو ساء بعدك عيش

    فالموت سوف يطيب

    Or if life turns bitter after you are gone,

    then death will become sweet.

  5. لقد صبرنا كثيراً

    وساعدتنا القلوب

    Indeed, we have endured much,

    and our hearts sustained us.

  6. واليوم ذبنا وذابت

    إن الحديد يذوب

    And today we have melted, and so have they;

    indeed, iron melts.

  7. لا تبكين حبيباً

    فكم هناك حبيب

    Do not weep for a loved one,

    for many a loved one is there.

  8. قد كنت فينا غريباً

    وما هناك غريب

    You were indeed a stranger among us,

    but no one there is a stranger.

  9. بلغت دار أمان

    ترتد عنها الخطوب

    You have reached an abode of safety,

    from which calamities recoil.
