لاno نوالbounty فنكتفيso we might be content بالنوالwith bounty
لا نوال فنكتفي بالنوال
There is no safety, that we might find rest in hopes;
No safety, so we end with wishes
No bounty, that we might be content with bounty.
No attainment, so we satisfy ourselves with gifts
حكمةwisdom قدindeed أردتهاYou willed it ربO Lord فيناamong us
حكمة قد أردتها رب فينا
فامتثلناso we obeyed والخيرand goodness فيin الأمتثالobedience
فامتثلنا والخير في الأمتثال
A wisdom You have willed among us, O Lord;
A wisdom my Lord has willed in us
So we obeyed, and goodness lies in obedience.
So we obeyed, and good is in obeying
إنindeed هذاthis الجيلthe generation الأخيرlatest لجيلtruly a generation
إن هذا الجيل الأخير لجيل
جاءcame عاراًas a disgrace لسائرto all other الأجيالthe generations
جاء عاراً لسائر الأجيال
Indeed, this latest generation is truly a generation
Indeed this last generation is a generation
That has come as a disgrace to all other generations.
That came in disgrace of all generations
