وُصِفَتshe was described عِنديin my presence سُلَيمىSulayma
فَاِشتَهىso longed قَلبيmy heart يَراهاto see her
Sulayma was described to me,
Suleima was described to me
so my heart longed to see her.
So my heart desired to see her
لَوif يَرىwere to see سَلمىSalma خَليليmy friend
لَدَعاhe would call سَلمىSalma إِلاهاa deity
If my friend were to see Salma,
If my friend Salma could see her
he would call Salma a deity,
He would worship none but Suleima
وَرَأىand would see حينَwhen يَراهاhe sees her
رَبَّthe Lord of طاسينَṬā-Sīn وَطاهاand Ṭā-Hā
and, when he saw her, would behold
And when he does see her
the Lord of Ṭā-Sīn and Ṭā-Hā.
He will exclaim, glory to the Maker of the cup and its contents
