    لَيسَ كَأسٌ كَكَأسِ أُمِّ حَكيمِ

    Indeed, the old woman’s cup is a thirst-quenching cup;

    no cup is like the cup of Umm Hakim.

    Indeed, she drinks rassātūn wine unmixed,

    from a great vessel made of glass.

    If a camel were to drink from it, or an ele-

    phant, both would remain in drunkenness and gloom.

    She bore him drunk and did not manage child-

    birth well; thus he came into the world lacking good sense.
