حافِظٌ وُدَّ خَليلِ

حافِظٌ وُدَّ خَليلِ

a sincere one to tell her that I

An advisor telling

preserve my affection for a beloved

I am loyal beloved's love

يَبذُلُ الوُدَّ لِغَيري

يَبذُلُ الوُدَّ لِغَيري

وَأُكافي بالجَميلِ

وَأُكافي بالجَميلِ

who gives affection to someone other than me,

He gives love to others

and I repay with kindness?

And I repay with beauty

لَستُ أَرضى لِخَليلي

لَستُ أَرضى لِخَليلي

مِن وِصالي بِالقَليلِ

مِن وِصالي بِالقَليلِ

For my beloved, I am not content

I am not content for my beloved

with only a little of my companionship.

With my little union
