يا أَيُّها السائِلُ عَن دينِنا
نَحنُwe عَلىupon دينِfaith أَبيAbu (father of) شاكِرِShakir
نَحنُ عَلى دينِ أَبي شاكِرِ
O you who ask about our creed,
O you who ask about our faith,
we follow the creed of Abu Shakir:
We follow the faith of Abu Shakir.
نَشرَبُهاwe drink it صِرفاًneat (unmixed) وَمَمزوجَةًand mixed
نَشرَبُها صِرفاً وَمَمزوجَةً
بِالسُخنِwith hot water أَحياناًsometimes وَبِالفاتِرِand with lukewarm water
بِالسُخنِ أَحياناً وَبِالفاتِرِ
we drink it pure and mixed,
We drink it neat and mixed,
sometimes with hot water, and sometimes with tepid.
Sometimes with hot water, and with lukewarm water.
