أَلاHear! مَنwho مُبلِغُwill inform الرَحمَنthe Most Merciful عَنّيon my behalf
أَلا مَن مُبلِغُ الرَحمَن عَنّي
بِأَنّيthat I تارِكٌam abandoning شَهرَthe month of الصِيامِfasting
بِأَنّي تارِكٌ شَهرَ الصِيامِ
Hear! Who will tell the Most Merciful on my behalf
Oh messenger of The Merciful, tell Him for me
That I am abandoning the month of fasting?
That I have abandoned the month of fasting
فَقُلso tell لِلَّهِto God يَمنَعُنيhe denies me شَرابيmy drink
فَقُل لِلَّهِ يَمنَعُني شَرابي
وَقُلand tell لِلَّهِto God يَمنَعُنيhe denies me طَعاميmy food
وَقُل لِلَّهِ يَمنَعُني طَعامي
Then tell God to deny me my drink,
Say to God my drink prevents me
And tell God to deny me my food.
And say to God my food prevents me
