1. لَيتَ حَظّي اليَومَ مِن كلْ

    لِ مَعاشٍ لي وَزادِ

    Would that my share today from all

    my livelihood and provisions

  2. قَهوَةٌ أَبذُلُ فيها

    طارِفي ثُمَّ تِلادي

    were wine, on which I would spend

    my newly acquired wealth, then my inherited wealth,

  3. فَيَظَلُّ القَلبُ مِنها

    هائِماً في كُلِّ وادي

    so that, through it, the heart would remain

    wandering in every valley.

  4. إِنَّ في ذاكَ صَلاحي

    وَفَلاحي وَرَشادي

    Indeed, in that lies my well-being,

    and my success and my right guidance.
