يهون الخطب أن الدهر ذو غير

وأن أيامه بين الورى دول

What eases hardship is that time is ever-changing,

Hardships seem light when time brings change,

and that its days are turns of fortune among humankind,

As days revolve throughout the world,

وأن ما سر أو ما ساء منتقل

وأن ما سر أو ما ساء منتقل

عنا إلا فإنا عنه ننتقل

عنا إلا فإنا عنه ننتقل

and that whatever brings joy or sorrow will depart

What was secret or grieved is moved on,

from us; if not, we shall depart from it.

Except us, for we move past them.
