فإليكَso to you بنتَdaughter الفِكرthought منfrom بُعدِremoteness المَدَىthe distance
فإليكَ بنتَ الفِكر من بُعدِ المَدَى
تُهدَىis offered فَشرِّفْهاso honor her بحُسنِwith good سَمَاعِlistening
تُهدَى فَشرِّفْها بحُسنِ سَمَاعِ
So to you, from far away, the daughter of thought
To you comes a daughter of thought from afar
is offered; honor her by listening well.
To be gifted, so honor her with good listening
وصِداقُهاand her dower الإكرامُhonor لاnot ماwhat سِيقَwas brought فيin
وصِداقُها الإكرامُ لا ما سِيقَ في
نِحَلِbridal gifts الكرائمnoblewomen منof لُهىًmonetary gifts ومتَاعِand goods
نِحَلِ الكرائم من لُهىً ومتَاعِ
And her dower is honor, not what is brought as
Her dowry is respect, not what is offered in
bridal gifts to noblewomen—money and goods.

فهيfor she الكريمةُthe noble one ليسis not فيin أعْرَاقِهاher lineage
فهي الكريمةُ ليس في أعْرَاقِها
عِرقٌa strain إلىtoward الأطماعِcovetous desires بالنَّزّاعِstrongly drawn
عِرقٌ إلى الأطماعِ بالنَّزّاعِ
For she is noble; in her lineage there is no
