قُلsay للّذينَto those who نأوْاwent far away والقلبُand the heart دارُهُمُtheir home
قُل للّذينَ نأوْا والقلبُ دارُهُمُ
وِجدَانُناour finding كُلّevery شَيءٍthing بَعدَكُمafter you عَدَمُnothingness
وِجدَانُنا كُلّ شَيءٍ بَعدَكُم عَدَمُ
Say to those who have gone afar, whose home is the heart:
Tell those who shunned me, though in their hearts they dwell
All that we find after you is nothingness.
Without you all is naught, our souls cannot foretell
جَهلتُI did not know أُنْسِيmy joy بكُمin your company والدارُand the dwelling دَانيةٌnear
جَهلتُ أُنْسِي بكُم والدارُ دَانيةٌ
حتّىuntil إذاwhen نَزَحَتْit grew distant أدْمَىbloodied يدِيmy hand النّدَمُregret
حتّى إذا نَزَحَتْ أدْمَى يدِي النّدَمُ
I did not know my joy in your company while the dwelling was near,
Estranged am I, forgotten, though my home remains
Until, when it grew distant, regret bloodied my hand.
Until removal bares my hand in woeful shame
