لَه فكلّ على الطّاعاتِ مُنكمِشُ
Our prince is an ascetic, and the people have become ascetics
Our prince abstains, and the people abstain too
On his account; everyone is intent on acts of devotion.
For him, so all are withdrawn into obedience

His days, like the month of fasting, are pure,
His days are as pure as the fasting month
Free from sins, and in them are hunger and thirst.
Free from sins, with hunger and thirst in them
