O you who reproach the yearning lover, leave him, for rarely
O you who blame the lover, leave him be, for rarely
Does he heed counsel and forceful admonition.
Does he heed advice and preaching eloquent.

You reproach the lover—while his heart is full of
The lover's heart is brimming full with
His sorrows—in vain, with an empty heart.
His longings futile, to an empty heart indifferent.

Cease reproaching him, for love's torment is enough for him;
Spare your blame, his love's torment suffices him
And preserve the ease of abundant bliss.
And rather seek the abundant bounty magnificent.
