ياO رَبِّmy Lord حُسْنُgoodness رجائيmy hope فيكَin You حسَّنَmade seem good ليto me
يا رَبِّ حُسْنُ رجائي فيكَ حسَّنَ لي
تضييعَwasting وقتيَmy time فيin لهوٍdiversion وفيand in لَعِبِplay
تضييعَ وقتيَ في لهوٍ وفي لَعِبِ
O my Lord, my good hope in You has made it seem good to me
O Lord, my hope in You has allowed me
to waste my time in diversion and play.
To waste my time in play and foolishness
وأنتَand You قلتَsaid لِمنto one who أضحىhas become علىin ثِقَةٍconfidence
وأنتَ قلتَ لِمن أضحى على ثِقَةٍ
بحسنِin the goodness of عفوِكَYour pardon إنّيindeed, I عندaccording to ظنِّكَyour expectation بيof Me
بحسنِ عفوِكَ إنّي عند ظنِّكَ بي
And You said to one who has become confident
And You have said, for those with faith
in Your gracious pardon: “Indeed, I am as you think of Me.”
In Your pardon's grace, I am as they think of Me
