تنكرنيdisown me الإخوانthe friends حتىeven ثقاتهمtheir trustworthy ones
تنكرني الإخوان حتى ثقاتهم
وحذرنيand warned me منهمagainst them نذيرthe warner التجاربexperiences
وحذرني منهم نذير التجارب
My friends disown me—even their trustworthy ones;
My brethren disown me, even those I trust,
and the warning voice of experience has cautioned me against them.
And the wise one warned me against them all.
كأنيas though I إذاwhen أودعتI entrusted سريmy secret عندهمwith them
كأني إذا أودعت سري عندهم
رفعتI raised بنارwith a fire فوقabove أعلىthe highest المراقبthe watchtowers
رفعت بنار فوق أعلى المراقب
It is as though, whenever I entrust my secret to them,
As though were I to confide my secret in them,
I have raised a fire above the highest watchtowers.
I'd be raising a fire atop the highest watchtower.
