If we patiently endured affliction seeking God's reward,
If we had patience for tribulation as an act of devotion
we would hope for abundant reward for it.
We would hope for plentiful reward from it

But our endurance is the patience of helplessness
Yet our patience is the patience of incapacity
and compulsion; such is the patience of beasts.
And compulsion - just as animals show patience

شَcompletion of 'life' إذاwhen كانit is فيهin it ذُلُّabasement الرِّقابِnecks
So may God condemn souls content with life
So may God inspire souls that accept a life
when it entails the abasement of necks.
Of humiliation, if it brings freedom from bondage
