دعانِي إلى هَجري بثينةَ حِقبةً

من الدّهر خَوفي هَجَرها آخرَ الدّهرِ
I was driven to forsake Buthayna for a span
He called me to abandon Buthaina for ages
Of time by my fear of her estrangement until time’s end.
Out of fear of losing her forever after
ولاand no بأسَharm بالهِجرانِin separation ماso long as لمnot يكنit is قِلىًhatred

And there is no harm in separation, so long as it is not hatred,
Parting is fine unless forced by fate
Nor in turning away, so long as one does not do so out of treachery.
No harm from rejection unless meant as betrayal
