كيفَhow الخَلاصُescape لقلبيfor my heart منfrom يَديْthe two hands of قَمَرٍa moon
كيفَ الخَلاصُ لقلبي من يَديْ قَمَرٍ
أَسيرُa captive of ناظِرِهِhis gaze بالوَجدِby longing مَغلُولُshackled
أَسيرُ ناظِرِهِ بالوَجدِ مَغلُولُ
How can my heart escape from the hands of a moon?
How can my heart find deliverance from a moon's hand
It is captive to his gaze, shackled by longing.
Its watcher held captive, bound by passion?
جُرحيmy wound لديهِto him جُبارٌuncompensated لاno قِصاصَretribution لهfor it
جُرحي لديهِ جُبارٌ لا قِصاصَ له
فيin حكمِهhis judgment ودميand my blood فيin الحبِّlove مطلُولُshed unavenged
في حكمِه ودمي في الحبِّ مطلُولُ
My wound, to him, goes uncompensated; no retribution is due for it
My wound under his command has no redress
under his judgment; and in love my blood is shed unavenged.
His rule makes my blood free to love's spilling
