Its arrows could not be repelled

Nor did Solomon, his son, repel them

with his kingdom and his massed troops.

It is justice, in which all creatures are equal; it does not

distinguish the master from his slave.

Each has a limit; when he reaches

it, death meets him at his limit.

in his grave is like a child in its cradle.

in a dwelling near, despite its remoteness?

They have settled in the earth and have not told

of the heat of their resting place, nor its cold.

Because of a calamity that silenced them, they refrained

from initiating speech or answering it.

Were they to speak, they would say: 'Piety is the best that

a person takes as provision to his grave.'

So return to God, and trust in what

has reached you in His true promise:

For the patient are reward and safety from

His punishment, and triumph in His eternal abode.
