Even if the hands of misfortune have scattered our company,

then Abu al-Gharat's generosity brings our company together.

He is the king, lavish in bounty, al-Salih, whose

seas of generosity are all watering places.

He gives without reminding others of his favors, great though his bounty is,

as though his gifts were deposits in his keeping.

He makes one extravagant in wishes the arbiter of his bounty,

so desires marvel at the bounty of his hands.
