أأحبَابَناO our beloveds مَاليI have no إلىto الصّبرِpatience عنكُمُapart from you
أأحبَابَنا مَالي إلى الصّبرِ عنكُمُ
دليلٌa guide وقدand indeed ضَلّتْhas become lost عَليّto me طَريقُهُits path
دليلٌ وقد ضَلّتْ عَليّ طَريقُهُ
O our beloveds, to patience apart from you I have
No guide, and its path has eluded me.
فَهلis there, then نظرةٌa glance منكُمfrom you علىdespite بُعدthe distance of دَارِكُمyour dwelling
فَهل نظرةٌ منكُم على بُعد دَارِكُم
يُداويmay heal بهاwith it صبُّone lovesick الفؤادthe heart مَشُوقُهُits yearning one
يُداوي بها صبُّ الفؤاد مَشُوقُهُ
Is there, then, a glance from you, though your dwelling is far,
With which one lovesick and yearning of heart might find healing?
