Sol 6.1

  1. قُل للّوائِم كُفّوا عن مَلامِكُمُ

    فإنَّه يَستَثِيرُ الهمَّ والأَسَفَا

    Tell the reproachers: cease your blame,

    for it stirs up sorrow and regret.

  2. لا تُذكروني تَجَنِّيهِ وهَجْرَتَهِ

    فحبُّه شَاغِلٌ عن كلِّ ما سَلَفَا

    Do not remind me of his cruelty and desertion,

    for love of him distracts me from all that has passed.

  3. إذا عرضتُ على قلبِي إساءَتَهُ

    هَفَا وأنكرَ منها كلَّ ما عَرَفَا

    When I lay his mistreatment before my heart,

    it yearns and denies every wrong it knew.

  4. وإن هممتُ بصبرٍ عنه واجَهَنِي

    من وجْهِهِ بشفيعٍ زادَني شَغَفَا

    And if I resolve to endure without him, he confronts me

    with an intercessor from his face that deepens my passion.
