ياO قمرٌmoon أعْجَبُmost wondrous مَاwhat فيهِin him
يا قمرٌ أعْجَبُ مَا فيهِ
دُرّpearls بديعُexquisite النّظِمstringing فيin فيهِhis mouth
دُرّ بديعُ النّظِم في فيهِ
O moon! The greatest marvel in him is
O moon, your most wondrous feature
pearls, exquisitely strung within his mouth.
Is pearls exquisitely strung in your mouth.
قدindeed زدتَyou have increased فيin التّيهpride ومنand whoever لاnot يَرَىsees
قد زدتَ في التّيه ومن لا يَرَى
مثلاًan equal لَهto him يُعذَرُis excused فيin التّيهِpride
مثلاً لَه يُعذَرُ في التّيهِ
You have grown in pride; and whoever sees
You have grown prouder, and whoever sees no
no equal to himself is excused his pride.
Equal to himself is excused for his pride.
