For a trouble that arose and a grave concern that struck.

وإنand if نَامslumbered حظّيَmy fortune عماof what عهدتُI once knew
وإن نَام حظّيَ عما عهدتُ
فإنَّthen surely اهتمامَكَyour care بيfor me لَمdid not يَنَمْsleep
فإنَّ اهتمامَكَ بي لَم يَنَمْ
And if my fortune has slumbered, heedless of what I once knew,
Then surely your care for me has not slept.
