Who will convey a greeting to the distant one who remains,
Who can convey to the settled distant one
From a traveler lamenting the burning anguish of his longings,
Greetings from a saddened, longing traveller
لَهجٍconstantly preoccupied معdespite اليأْسِdespair المُبينِevident بذكْرِهwith remembering him

Ever remembering him despite evident despair,
Whose tone, mingled with evident despair from mentioning him
Restless of heart, his heart fluttering at his absence?
Disturbs the stillness of the deserted dwellings through his absence
وهُوand he الخَلِيقُlikely بأنto يَموتَdie كآبةًof sorrow

And he might well die of sorrow,
And he deserves to die of grief
But noble patience is part of his character.
But the merit of patience is one of his virtues
