هَبوني كما زَعمُوا مُذنِباً

هَبوني كما زَعمُوا مُذنِباً

أسأتُ وقد جئتُ أستغفرُ

أسأتُ وقد جئتُ أستغفرُ

Grant that I am guilty, as they claimed;

They accused me of sinning, as they claimed

I did wrong, and indeed I have come seeking forgiveness.

I did wrong and now I come to ask forgiveness

فأينَ دليلُ الرّضا والقبولِ

فأينَ دليلُ الرّضا والقبولِ

وحُسنُ تَجاوُزِ مَن يَقدِرُ

وحُسنُ تَجاوُزِ مَن يَقدِرُ

Where, then, is the sign of approval and acceptance,

So where is the proof of acceptance and approval

And the gracious pardon of one who has power?

And the merit of pardoning one who is able?

ولم يَبقَ لي بعد ذُلِّ الخضوعِ

ولم يَبقَ لي بعد ذُلِّ الخضوعِ

رجاءٌ سِوى أنَّنِي أَصبْرُ

رجاءٌ سِوى أنَّنِي أَصبْرُ

And after the humiliation of submission, there remains for me

After such humility and submission

No hope except to endure patiently.

I have no hope left but to be patient
