ياO غَادِرينَfaithless ones إِلامَhow long يَثْنيthwarts هَجرُكُمyour abandonment
وملالُكُمand your weariness أمَلِيmy hope بجَدٍّwith fortune نَاكِصِretreating
O faithless ones, how long will your abandonment
O you who left, why does your departure aggrieve me
and your weariness thwart my hope, with fortune in retreat?
While my hopes in you were diminishing in earnest
أناI مِنbecause of هَواكُمlove for you بينbetween حبٍّlove زائدٍgrowing
بَلَغَhas reached النهايةَthe utmost limit بيwith me وحظٍّand fortune ناقصِdeficient
In my love for you, I am caught between a growing love
I, from loving you, am between increased love
that has carried me to the utmost limit, and meager fortune.
And diminished fortune that has reached its end with me
أرضَىI accept مشُوبَmingled الوُدِّaffection منكُمfrom you بالقِلىwith aversion
وأُبِيحُكُمand I freely offer you محضَpure الودادlove الخَالِصِunalloyed
I accept affection from you mingled with aversion,
I am content with your imperfect affection
and freely offer you pure, unalloyed love.
And I allow your pure and sincere love
