ياO قلبُheart مُتْdie كَمَداًof grief عَلَىover
يا قلبُ مُتْ كَمَداً عَلَى
مَنthe one whom غبتَyou were absent عنهfrom him وغَابَand he was absent عَنكَfrom you
مَن غبتَ عنه وغَابَ عَنكَ
O heart, die of grief over
My friend, do not despair
the one from whom you were absent, and who was absent from you.
Though you are parted, love is there
لاnot تَلْتَقيyou find بَدَلاًa replacement بهfor him
لا تَلْتَقي بَدَلاً به
وسَيَلْتَقِيand he will find الأبْدَالَthe replacements منكَfor you
وسَيَلْتَقِي الأبْدَالَ منكَ
You will find no replacement for him,
Let no other take their place
and he will find replacements for you.
Time will bring you back, embrace to embrace
