If a man does not seek a livelihood for himself,

he complains of poverty or blames his friend, and does so at length.

And he becomes a burden on those closest to him, and soon

his kinsfolk's kindness toward him turns cold.

And none seeks what he needs from every quarter

among people except one who strives hard and girds himself.

So travel through God's lands and seek wealth:

you will live in affluence, or die and be excused.
