تَبَغَّSeek out عِداءًʿIdāʾ حَيثُwherever حَلَّتhave settled دِيارُهاtheir dwellings
تَبَغَّ عِداءً حَيثُ حَلَّت دِيارُها
وَأَبناءُand the sons of عَوفٍʿAwf فيamong القُرونِthe generations الأَوائِلِthe earliest
وَأَبناءُ عَوفٍ في القُرونِ الأَوائِلِ
Seek out ʿIdāʾ wherever their dwellings lie,
and the sons of ʿAwf among the earliest generations.
فَإِلّاand if not أَنَلI reach أَوساًAws فَإِنِّيَthen indeed I am حَسبُهاa match for them
فَإِلّا أَنَل أَوساً فَإِنِّيَ حَسبُها
بِمُنبَطَحِon the flat ground of الأَوعالِthe ibexes مِنin ذيDhū (possessor of) الشَلائِلِal-Shalāʾil
بِمُنبَطَحِ الأَوعالِ مِن ذي الشَلائِلِ
And if I do not reach Aws, then I am a match for them
on the ibexes’ plain in Dhū al-Shalāʾil.
