مُخطَفاتِ الخُصورِ مُعتَجِراتِ
The full moon emerged, gliding gracefully among maidens,
The full moon rose in the horizon, swaying
Slender-waisted, with veils wrapped about their heads.
The veiled ladies, cloaked in their beauty
فَتَنَفَّستُso I sighed ثُمَّthen قُلتُI said لِبِكرٍto a maiden
فَتَنَفَّستُ ثُمَّ قُلتُ لِبِكرٍ
عَجَّلَتshe hastened فيin الحَياةِlife ليfor me خَيباتِdisappointments
عَجَّلَت في الحَياةِ لي خَيباتِ
So I sighed, then said to a maiden
I took a deep breath then said to the morning:
Who had hastened disappointments for me in life:
"You have hastened life's disappointments for me"
هَلis there? سَبيلٌa way إِلىto الَّتيthe woman who لاnot أُباليI care

“Is there a way to her? I would not care,
Is there a way to her, who I do not care
After her, if I died before my time.”
If after her I die before my time
